RULES AND GUIDELINES

1. Contestant need not be an Ashtabula County resident.

2. Contestant must submit a 3x5 or 4x6 COLOR PHOTOGRAPH, horizontal format only, please. No altered or computer enhanced pictures will be accepted. Pictures must be in printed format not on disc.

3. The committee will only accept photos of Ashtabula County’s seventeen covered bridges.

4. Contest winner shall, if needed and upon request, submit a negative or JPG image of the winning photograph within one week of request to do so. Failure to provide the negative or JPG image will result in forfeiture of the prize. Any negatives used will be returned by September 30, 2012. Negatives are usually not required as pictures are now scanned.

5. There is no limit as to the number of photos a contestant can enter.

6. Contestant must attach their name, address, phone number, date picture was taken (if known), and name of bridge to each entry. PLEASE DO NOT WRITE ON THE BACK OF THE PICTURE. Do not send a negative with picture. Entry fee must accompany picture.

7. All entries become the property of the Covered Bridge Festival Committee. Non-winning photos may be used in the official Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival Souvenir Program newspaper supplement.

8. Entry deadline is March 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at the April 27, 2012 Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival committee meeting and will be notified by mail.

9. Maximum of two photos per winner will be published in the 2013 Calendar.

10. An entry fee of $1.00 must accompany each photo entered

PRIZES

One photo will be chosen for the Grand Prize and will be used as the cover for the official Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival 2013 Calendar. The Grand Prize photographer will receive a plaque and $25.00. All others will receive $10.00. One photo will be chosen for each of the seventeen bridges. Winning photos will be selected on clarity and how they adapt to the season. All winners will receive a credit line on the calendar and a complimentary calendar when printed.
